Targeted Advertising: 3 strategies you’re missing out on in New York

Targeted Advertising with Informer Messages on hold reaches your customersTargeted advertising isn’t the old “run of the mill” ad.  It’s much more effective. Why?  Because unlike most advertising in New York, it actually reaches the people who you want to reach. The people who are interested in what you have to say.  The people in Manhattan or Queens or Brooklyn who are most likely to buy from you.

If you had a choice between an ad that reached thousands of random people, and an ad that reached just your highest potential prospects, which would you choose?

Targeted Advertising reaches your best prospects

While some businesses continue to try to attract attention with “mass advertising,” today’s most successful companies have moved on.  These ads were supposed to catch your attention when they “interrupt” what you were doing.

Think about it.  You’re watching TV.  It’s getting to the good part.  And a commercial comes on.  Not just one commercial, but 3, or maybe 4.  And they’re louder than the TV show.  Or you open your inbox in the morning.  There are 168 new emails since you left the office last night.  Just about all spam.

Targeted Advertising still works

Newspaper advertising (so important in the 40’s and 50’s) has virtually dried up.  No one watches an ad on television: we “Tivo” our shows, and skip the ads.  Radio advertising is following the same path with personal playlists and ad-free Spotify.  Even email advertising has burnt its bridges and is ignored.

Not convinced?  According to HubSpot’s Global Interruptive Ads Survey conducted in 2016:

  • 94% of all consumers actually skip television ads completely
  • 94% unsubscribe from email
  • 27% throw away direct mail before reading it, and an amazing
  • 50% are on the national do not call registry

New Yorkers aren’t patient enough to put up with most advertising.

So what can you do to reach the consumer?  Targeted Advertising.

Reach your customer when they want to reached.  Reach them when they’re looking for help.  There are three proven strategies that you may not know how to use, but you’ve absolutely been targeted by:

  1. Adwords (aka Google Ads) “listen” to what consumers are searching for on Google.  Businesses bid against their competitors to have their ad displayed at the top of the “results” page and link to your website or landing page.  The value is that your ad shows up every time your bid is high enough and someone search your keyword.  But there’s a downside: you pay for every click (so it’s called also Pay Per Click).  In this case, you only get what you pay for.  And you pay every time.
  2. Retargeting: You visit a website, maybe just for fun.  It could be for Playstation Network or Doctor Sleep.  After that, every time you do a Google search or you go to Facebook, an ad for that website shows up.  They’re reminding you about what you searched for.  How’d they do that?  It’s called retargeting.  These ads “stalk” you for up to 90 days, reminding you that you were interested in them.  As an advertiser you pay for either every exposure or every click.
  3. Messages on hold.  When your phone rings, it’s “a call for help.”  Someone wants to know if you have what they want, or can help them solve a problem.  So why not make every call more productive (profitable) by putting wasted “hold” time to use?  Use it to give callers information that they want, and that you want them to have.  Japan Airlines knew that all their callers wanted a reservation to Japan.  So they used their Informer Messages to advertise the prestige of flying First or Business Class.  What are callers calling you about?  We’ll help you pinpoint the way to sell more on every call with Informer Messages, the targeted marketing tool.

Message on hold company in Connecticut: 5.5 questions before buying

Message on hold company in Connecticut 5.5 questions to ask before you buyHow do you find the right message on hold company in Connecticut?  Just do a Google search, and you’ll find About 522,000,000 results (0.69 seconds).  But does that really help?  Does it help you find your best option?  Maybe you need to know more before making your choice.  Here are 5.5 questions to ask that can help.

Message on hold company in Connecticut

After any Google search businesses Stamford, Norwalk, or Hartford understand that answers to a few important questions will help make the right choice.

  1. Do you have a questionnaire?  Before anyone can improve your marketing results they’ve got to know and understand you.  Filling out a questionnaire isn’t only annoying, it’s impersonal, and the answers are often ignored. If they’re short enough, they miss important information.  Standard questionnaires can’t possibly apply to your industry, if the same one is sent to everyone else, from brain surgeons to trash haulers.  That’s why we prefer a personal Discovery Session, where every answer can lead to a new insightful question, works better.
Bottom line: if they rely on questionnaires, you can’t rely on their messages
  2. Who writes the script: some suppliers tell you to “send us a script and we’ll record it.”  They’re missing the point.  Simply recording a voice over for your telephone message is the easy part.  Creating a strategy and a script that gets a response is the real challenge.  In a perfect world the marketer who asks you the questions about your business should also be the writer.  Who knows more about you?
Bottom line: The quality of the script determines the results.  That’s what you’re paying for.
  3. How long will the script be?  Can you imagine that a 300-word script, or one with 6 messages, will be perfect for every industry?  For every business?  For every “hold time”?  For your company?
Bottom Line: every business’ needs are different.  Your script length should be too.
  4. When can I update my messages?  This is a trick question: many suppliers tell you that you can update your messages on a set schedule.  Then you’ll never hear from them again.
Bottom Line: If they’re not proactively contacting you to remind you to update, to ask you questions about what’s new at your business and in your industry, and to give you interesting ideas, you’re not getting what you paid for.
  5. Can I cancel?  Many suppliers will “lock” you into a 3 year (or longer) contract.  That makes me think that that’s the only way they “hold on” to customers.  |
Bottom Line: If you can’t cancel at any time with no penalty, don’t sign up in the first place.

5.5 Tell me about others you’ve worked with in my industry, and what you’ve done
them.  While we don’t give out names or show you scripts for other companies
in your industry, we know lots about what has worked in your industry.
Bottom Line: Learning what will help you takes time and practice.  Don’t let them
practice while you’re paying the bill.

The right message on hold company in Connecticut will have the right answers

These are just 5.5 questions to ask a potential supplier.  Think about the things that lead to success in your industry, and how your customers can recognized the best supplier.  Asking tough questions is the only way to find the right supplier.

Finding the right Message on hold company in Connecticut

Sy Syms, a success business owner known throughout the New York/Connecticut/New Jersey tri-state area had a slogan that makes more sense every day:  “An educated consumer is our best customer.”  That slogan has stuck with me for over 30 years, and it’s just as true today as back before Google gave you 522,000,000 answers to a simple question.

How can you find the right message on hold company in Connecticut?

Bottom Line: asking the right questions will help you find the right on hold messaging company in Connecticut, or anywhere.

Here’s a challenge: call all 522 million options, or call us.  We have the answers you’re looking for.  In Stamford, Norwalk, or Hartford call us at (203) 655-3920.  In New York call 212-355-6980.  Nationwide call (800) 862-8896.

VoIP On Hold Music is easy to replace…and it’s a free service

Voip On hold messages used to be recorded on audio cassettesVoIP On Hold Systems don’t get any respect!  Here’s why:

We see it all the time: a company like yours starts using messages on hold.  They sound good, and you sound professional.  New York customers are impatient, but fewer callers get frustrated if they have to wait on hold. Some of your callers start asking about the messages they hear.

Then you decide to move to a VoIP system.  It’s supposed to save you money and give you lots of free features.

One feature that every VoIP System in Manhattan comes with is “preloaded” music on hold.  It may even include a message that apologizes to callers for keeping them on hold so long.  Now we all hear the same exact “loop” of music no matter who we call…a brain surgeon or a used car lot. Everybody uses one of the top 3 or 4 VoIP providers.  They all provide “canned” music. And that’s what your callers end up hearing on hold.

VoIP on hold music is the same on every system

Not about your quality.  Not about your service.  Not about your newest offerings.  Your VoIP system replaces your old fashioned phones, but the installer never thinks to keep the marketing messages you still want callers to hear.

VoIP On Hold Messages make more sense

So what do you do?
Simple: you call The Informer.  We’ll work with your VoIP provider to find the best way to get your messages on hold loaded onto your VoIP system, and working for you again. And best of all: there’s no charge.  It’s free.  It’s all part of our free lifetime service guarantee.

The VoIP on hold problem is easy to solve

Getting a new VoIP system doesn’t mean that you have to lose your marketing messages on hold.  We’ve kept all our old Messages on hold recordings in our archive for years, and can (almost) always find a copy.  Some of our clients have changed phone systems several times, and we’ve helped them every time.  But if we don’t have your messages, we can quickly recreate them, or develop an updated script.

Don’t settle for VoIP on hold music.

Give me a call, and let’s fix the problem.  In New York City call (212) 355-6980.  In New York State and Nationwide Call (800) 862-8896.
